Abstract: The use of oral implants in patients with congenital or acquired oral defects"
Oral implants have become the treatment of choice in the rehabilitation of patients with oral defects. They provide retention for both removable and fixed prostheses and allow us to restore oral function and aesthetics in most cases. This lecture will give an overview of the possibilities and limitations of implant treatment in more advanced cases. Several medical disciplines are involved in the treatment, but the main focus in this lecture will be prosthetic rehabilitation. Problems related to cleft lip and palate, hemifacial microsomia, acromegalia and head- and neck-cancer are among the topics that will be discussed.
